How we chose

Ten programs, not the whole market

Reach came first. A program is only worth joining if its hotels are where you already go, so we started with footprint, then looked at whether the rewards are realistically spendable and whether the status tiers differ enough that choosing between them matters. Smaller and regional programs can be excellent; they just aren’t where most travelers start.

    Nothing else covers this much ground; the price is a rulebook that shifts by brand, by hotel, and sometimes by the booking in front of you.

    The footprint is the catch. Where Hyatt does have hotels, a published award chart and serious Globalist benefits make points easier to plan around than almost anywhere else.

    Easy to find and easy to keep using, with a fifth-night benefit that genuinely pays on longer award stays; the catch is that prices move with demand, so every redemption is its own decision.

  4. 04IHG One RewardsIHG Hotels & ResortsGood forThe nights between elite tiers

    Milestone Rewards pay you for the nights that don't move you up a tier. On property, though, the brand still matters more than the badge.

  5. 05ALL – Accor Live LimitlessAccorGood forEurope, and anywhere else Accor is thick on the ground

    Reward Points carry a euro price, so ALL is unusually easy to value. Getting them is fussier: earning swings hard between brand groups, and elite benefits depend on where you're standing.

    Fixed award bands make Wyndham the easiest program here to plan against, though the bands themselves change on September 15, 2026.

    Bigger than its midscale reputation now that the Radisson hotels in the Americas belong to it. Whether that helps you depends almost entirely on where you travel.

    A loose alliance of independent hotel companies, held together by a reward that spends like a dollar. How you book decides how much of it you get.

  9. 09Best Western RewardsBWH HotelsGood forOccasional travelers

    Status starts at five nights and the points don't expire, so it's a forgiving program to keep in the background. The hotels are independently run, so judge each one on its own.

  10. 10Radisson RewardsRadisson Hotel GroupGood forAnyone booking a Radisson outside the Americas

    Useful across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, and beside the point in the Americas, where the same brand names sit inside Choice Privileges instead.
