Radisson Rewards
A useful international program, provided you confirm which Radisson system covers the hotel.
At a glance
The short version.
Geography determines the program. Radisson Rewards covers more than 810 participating hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Participating Radisson-family hotels in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean use Choice Privileges. The former Americas program is no longer a separate account to manage.
Within its region, Radisson Rewards has three tiers, rolling qualification, and large jumps in earning rate. Premium and VIP members can choose an up-to-20% Discount Booster rate in exchange for fewer points.
Strong points
- Premium begins at only five nights or three stays
- Large published earn-rate increases at Premium and VIP
- Discount Booster creates an explicit cash-versus-points choice
- The program publishes a clear regional participation boundary
Watch for
- Radisson hotels in the Americas use Choice Privileges
- Rolling status window resets after upgrade
- Discount Booster sharply reduces point earning
- Property exclusions and regional limits require live checking

Program overview
By the numbers.
This guide covers Radisson Rewards for participating hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Radisson properties in the Americas use Choice Privileges after the July 2023 integration of Radisson Rewards Americas into Choice. Radisson's current consumer page says 810+ participating international hotels; a 2026 corporate release cites a broader 1,600-hotel global portfolio that includes assets and pipeline outside this program's eligible scope.
- Program region
- Europe · Middle East · Africa · Asia PacificFor a Radisson property in the Americas, use Choice Privileges rather than this program.

- Reward currency
- Radisson Rewards pointsAward pricing is dynamic; the program does not publish a stable universal cents-per-point value.
- Normal hotel earning
- Club 8 · Premium 27 · VIP 36 points per US$1Prize by Radisson earns half these normal rates.
- Premium threshold
- 5 nights or 3 staysQualification runs on a rolling 12-month period rather than a calendar year.
- VIP threshold
- 30 nights or 20 staysThe counter and rolling period reset under the program's upgrade and requalification mechanics.
- Points inactivity
- 24 monthsRadisson may void points after 24 months without qualifying account activity.
- OTA treatment

A green check marks a participating brand. A dot means participation or benefits vary by property, region, collection, or stay type.
Before you book
In the Americas, overlapping Radisson-family brands participate in Choice Privileges. China-affiliated brands and benefits are property-specific, and the program lists additional exclusions including properties in Russia.
Brand names and logos belong to their respective owners. Their appearance here does not imply affiliation with or endorsement of UpTrip.

Geography
Choose the program before studying the benefits
Radisson now has two ownership and loyalty systems separated by geography. The name on the hotel is not enough to identify the program; the property's country determines where the booking and membership should live.
| Property location | Loyalty program | Booking ecosystem | Key consequence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europe | Radisson Rewards | Radisson Hotels | Use this guide and the international Rewards account |
| Middle East and Africa | Radisson Rewards | Radisson Hotels | Use this guide; verify property participation and local benefits |
| Asia Pacific | Radisson Rewards | Radisson Hotels | Use this guide; named China exclusions and affiliated brands require care |
| United States, Canada, Latin America, Caribbean | Choice Privileges | Choice Hotels | Radisson Rewards Americas was integrated into Choice in July 2023 |
Choice states that the nine Radisson brands in the Americas and nearly 600 hotels moved into its booking and loyalty environment. Outside the Americas, Radisson Hotel Group remains a separate business.
Earning
Normal earning versus Discount Booster
Premium and VIP members can choose a larger direct discount and accept fewer points. The decision should compare the incremental discount with the value of the points surrendered, using the same room and cancellation terms.
| Tier | Normal earn | Discount Booster earn | Prize normal / Booster |
|---|---|---|---|
| Club | 8 points per US$1 | Not published as a Club option | 4 points per US$1 / not applicable |
| Premium | 27 points per US$1 | 9 points per US$1 | 13.5 / 4.5 points per US$1 |
| VIP | 36 points per US$1 | 12 points per US$1 | 18 / 6 points per US$1 |
Premium gives up 18 points per dollar and VIP gives up 24. If a traveler independently values one point at v cents, the foregone rebate is 18v% or 24v% of eligible spend. That is a comparison formula, not an UpTrip point valuation.
Status
A rolling clock and materially different tiers
Qualification is measured across a rolling twelve months beginning with the first eligible stay. After an upgrade, the activity used is deducted and a new twelve-month clock begins. A member who does not requalify drops one tier and starts with a reset counter.
| Tier | Qualification | Core stay benefits | Food and beverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Club | Enrollment | Direct member rate up to 15%; priority line at selected hotels | 10% at participating outlets |
| Premium | 5 nights or 3 stays | Next-category upgrade; early and late timing; My Favorite Hotel preferences; Premium support | 10% at participating outlets |
| VIP | 30 nights or 20 stays | Best-category upgrade; breakfast for two; selected exclusive areas; VIP support | 15% at participating outlets |
Upgrades and timing are subject to availability. VIP suites are offered only at selected hotels and are not guaranteed. Breakfast and several other benefits can be restricted on long stays or at particular property types.
Eligibility
Channel, folio, and status credit do different jobs
Radisson separates point earning from tier qualification in a way that is easy to miss. A third-party booking earns no points, yet the current rules say its nights or stays can qualify for status. Eligible room and food-and-beverage charges still need to meet the program's definitions.
| Booking or charge | Points | Tier credit or benefit treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Direct eligible hotel booking | Earns at the selected normal or Booster rate | Eligible nights or stays count; published benefits apply subject to conditions |
| Online travel company booking | No points and no missing-point claim | Official rules say nights or stays can count; attach membership for recognition |
| Eligible room charge | Earns when paid and posted under the terms | Counts with an eligible stay |
| Eligible hotel food and beverage | Can earn when properly charged to the room | Discount can apply at participating outlets, subject to exclusions |
| Tax and most incidentals | Excluded | Do not include in an earning forecast |
| Alcohol and tobacco | Excluded | Also outside the standard food-and-beverage discount |
| Up to three rooms | Can earn when the member occupies one and pays for all | Request proper association before checkout |
| Meetings and events | 5 points per US$1, maximum 250,000 per event | Separate meeting eligibility and booking rules apply |
Food-and-beverage discounts generally exclude taxes, tips, alcohol, room service, in-room dining, catering, banquets, groups of six or more, and certain named restaurants. Prize by Radisson has narrower recognition.
Points
Dynamic awards, checkout redemption, and account movement
Radisson does not publish a stable universal award value. Use the live cash and points prices for the same room and terms. Separate the online redemption limit from the broader ability to apply points at the hotel desk.
| Action | Current rule | Practical consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Award Night or points plus cash | Dynamic standard-room price on site, app, or contact center | Calculate value from the live quote; eligible nights count for status |
| Online/app/contact-center redemption | Maximum equivalent of US$600 per night | For a larger points payment, ask to redeem at checkout |
| Redeem at hotel checkout | Minimum 10 points toward eligible stay, service, or meeting charges | Property process and eligible-charge rules control |
| Cancellation or no-show | Property deadline, guarantee, and deposit rules apply | Late cancellation or no-show can cost one night's points |
| Gift an award | Enter the staying guest's name correctly | Do not leave the reservation solely in the member's name if absent |
| Member transfer | Account generally over 30 days; no more than 5 recipients monthly | Recipient can receive from no more than 5 accounts and no more than 100,000 points monthly |
| Airline conversion | Normally 10:1; SAS 7:1; four to six weeks | Current carriers and ratios must be checked before an irreversible transfer |
| Inactivity | Radisson may void points after 24 months without activity | Stay, redeem, buy, gift, or transfer under the current FAQ before the deadline |
The annual airline-conversion limit is one million Radisson points. Current first-party pages identify Air France-KLM, British Airways, and SAS, but the live partner list controls.
Participation
Brand names do not override property exclusions
The terms list a core set of participating brands, while the consumer navigation and benefit pages also refer to art'otel, Holmes, and affiliated China brands. Because those lists are not perfectly aligned, use the exact hotel's Rewards treatment as the final answer.
| Area | Published position | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Core brands | Radisson Individuals, Collection, Blu, Radisson, RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn, Country Inn & Suites, Prize | Current hotel participation and benefit availability |
| art'otel and Holmes | Referenced in consumer navigation or benefits | Program participation and the specific VIP benefit at the hotel |
| Russia | Properties excluded | Do not rely on Radisson Rewards earning or redemption |
| Named China exclusions | Golden Tulip Shanghai Rainbow; The Kunlun Beijing; Jin Jiang Hotel Shanghai; The Kunlun Jing An; J Hotel Shanghai Tower | Check the current FAQ before every booking |
| Other named exclusions | Radisson Blu Hotel Rostock and Park Hotel | Check current exclusion list and exact hotel identity |
| Residences, apartments, long stays | Upgrades and breakfast can be unavailable or restricted | Do not import full-service hotel benefits into a residence booking |
| Prize by Radisson | Half normal point earning and narrower benefits | Use Prize-specific earning and recognition rather than the parent-brand table |
How it works
Earning, status, and awards.
01 · Where it applies
Use Choice Privileges in the Americas.
Choice Privileges covers participating Radisson brands in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean under its current rules. Radisson Hotel Group's Radisson Rewards covers Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. The operators are unaffiliated across that boundary.
Do not use a historical Radisson Rewards Americas exchange ratio, account page, or review to plan a current booking. Start with the hotel's country, then use the matching program and official booking system.
- Americas: use Choice Privileges
- Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific: evaluate Radisson Rewards
- Russia properties are excluded under the current international program rules
02 · Earning
Premium and VIP earn much faster.
Club earns 8 points per eligible US dollar, Premium 27, and VIP 36 at standard participating hotels. Prize by Radisson earns half those rates. Eligible direct stays earn; qualifying food and beverage generally needs to be charged to the room and paid at checkout.
Premium and VIP can choose Discount Booster for an up-to-20% direct-rate discount, but earning drops to 9 and 12 points per dollar respectively—again halved at Prize. Compare the actual displayed standard direct rate and Booster rate; do not value the lost points without your own booking-specific assumption.
03 · Using points
Calculate each award from its live quote.
Award nights depend on availability and the property's cancellation policy. Online, app, and contact-center redemption is limited to stays up to a stated US$600 per-night equivalent; larger amounts may be handled at checkout under current rules.
Use the live points and cash quote to calculate value for that booking. Do not turn the result into an official Radisson valuation. Include the same room, cancellation policy, taxes, fees, and any remaining copay.
04 · Status
The rolling window restarts after an upgrade.
Premium requires five nights or three stays; VIP requires thirty nights or twenty stays within the applicable twelve-month period. The period starts after the first stay and runs through month-end. After an upgrade, the qualifying nights or stays used are deducted and a new period begins.
Third-party stays can count toward tier progress and recognition when the member number is supplied, but they do not earn points. Upgrades, breakfast, Favorite Hotel features, checkout flexibility, and other benefits have availability, brand, property, stay-length, and exclusion conditions.
05 · Keeping points active
Check the hotel and your last account activity.
A balance can be forfeited after 24 months without activity. Current FAQ wording includes earning, using, buying, gifting, or transferring points as activity, but record the completed posting rather than relying on an initiated action.
Radisson maintains a changing excluded-property list, and some benefits are only available at selected hotels. Confirm participation before calculating earn or assigning value to status recognition.
06 · Our take
Radisson can work well outside the Americas.
Premium is easy to reach within Radisson's EMEA and Asia-Pacific footprint, and the jump in earning rate is substantial. Discount Booster also presents a clear choice once you compare the cash saving with the points you give up.
The regional boundary is firm: use Choice Privileges in the Americas. Elsewhere, confirm the hotel, rolling qualification period, earning mode, and exclusion status before moving a stay or a balance.
Playbook
Earning and redemption, in practice.
Qualification, booking, and redemption call for different decisions. Here is how to handle each one.
01 · Before booking
Resolve the geography before opening an account
Radisson Rewards is now an international program covering participating properties in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Radisson-branded properties in the Americas moved into Choice Privileges in 2023. A search result, old account page, or familiar hotel name can obscure that division.
Begin with the country. For an Americas property, use Choice's site and rules. Elsewhere, open the hotel through Radisson and attach the international Rewards number. This prevents the most consequential program error: studying Radisson's tier benefits for a reservation that will post to Choice, or expecting a Choice account to work at an unrelated international Radisson hotel.
- Americas means Choice Privileges.
- Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific mean international Radisson Rewards.
- Use the correct booking domain and member number.
- Treat the two ownership groups as separate businesses.
02 · Participation
Count bookable participants, not the corporate estate
Radisson's consumer Rewards page says more than 810 participating hotels in its regions. A February 2026 corporate release refers to a global portfolio of 1,600 hotels. The larger number includes a broader estate, development pipeline, and the separate Americas portfolio; it is not a promise that 1,600 hotels accept this Rewards account.
For trip planning, the only reliable unit is the exact hotel. Confirm it appears through the international Rewards booking path and review any exclusion or property note. Portfolio size can describe reach, but it cannot establish earning, redemption, or breakfast at a given address.
- Use 810+ as the current consumer participation figure.
- Do not present 1,600 as an eligible-hotel count.
- Check the live property page and current FAQ exclusions.
- Date all footprint figures because the portfolio changes.
03 · Status
Qualification does not wait for January
Premium requires five nights or three stays; VIP requires thirty nights or twenty stays. The measurement period is a rolling twelve months beginning with the first eligible stay, not a fixed calendar year. This makes the program responsive to a concentrated travel period but less intuitive than a December 31 deadline.
After a member crosses a threshold and checks out, Radisson upgrades the account, deducts the activity used, and starts a new twelve-month qualification period. Failure to requalify produces a one-tier drop and reset counter. Track the account's displayed dates and activity rather than carrying a self-made calendar-year total.
- Record the date of the first eligible stay in the current cycle.
- Use stays or nights—whichever reaches the threshold first.
- Expect qualifying activity to be deducted after an upgrade.
- Check the new cycle dates in the account after status changes.
04 · Direct rates
The largest discount can be the weaker return
Discount Booster is an option for Premium and VIP members, not a free addition to normal earning. Premium falls from twenty-seven to nine points per dollar; VIP falls from thirty-six to twelve. Prize by Radisson falls from 13.5 to 4.5 for Premium and from eighteen to six for VIP.
Compare the Booster rate with the normal direct member rate for the same room, tax treatment, prepayment, and cancellation terms. Premium gives up eighteen points per dollar and VIP gives up twenty-four. Multiply that point difference by the traveler's own defensible point value, then select Booster only when the additional cash discount is worth more.
- Compare identical room and cancellation conditions.
- Premium forfeits 18 points per eligible dollar.
- VIP forfeits 24 points per eligible dollar.
- Use a personal value derived from real redemption options, not a universal estimate.
05 · Booking channels
An OTA stay can move status without earning points
Radisson's current rules make an unusual distinction. A booking through an online travel company does not earn points and cannot be submitted later as a missing-points claim. The official FAQ and terms nevertheless say the nights or stays can count toward tier qualification, and benefits may be recognized when the membership number is attached.
That can make an OTA reservation useful when its price is materially better and the traveler values status credit more than points. Direct booking often remains the stronger total proposition because it earns points and accesses member or Booster rates. Ask the hotel to attach the account before arrival and verify tier credit after checkout.
- Do not expect points from an OTA booking.
- Attach the Rewards number for tier tracking and possible recognition.
- Compare the lost points with the OTA saving.
- Keep the folio and reservation if qualifying credit fails to post.
06 · VIP
VIP becomes valuable where the hotel can deliver it
VIP combines thirty-six points per dollar under normal earning with breakfast for two, best-category upgrades, a 15% participating food-and-beverage discount, and selected exclusive-area access. Those can be substantial at a full-service hotel. They are not identical at every property, and a suite is offered only at selected hotels and remains subject to availability.
Long-stay properties, residences, apartments, Prize hotels, and named exclusions can narrow the benefit set. Before paying more for a Radisson booking to use VIP, ask what breakfast includes, whether the restaurant participates, what room categories are eligible for upgrade, and whether the property has an exclusive area in the first place.
- Register the second breakfast guest in the room.
- Do not treat a suite as guaranteed.
- Check long-stay and residence limitations.
- Confirm restaurant exclusions before valuing the F&B discount.
07 · Redemption
Use the live quote; there is no stable award chart
Award Night and points-plus-cash prices are dynamic. Radisson does not publish a universal fixed value that makes every redemption equivalent. Compare the cash and points options for the same standard room, cancellation deadline, taxes, and included benefits, then divide the cash actually avoided by the points required.
The website, app, and contact center limit online-style point redemption to the equivalent of US$600 per night. A larger eligible amount can be handled at the hotel desk at checkout. Award and online points-plus-cash nights count toward status, but the property's guarantee, deposit, cancellation, and no-show rules still apply.
- Compare the same room and terms on cash and points.
- Include taxes avoided and fees still payable.
- For more than US$600 per night, ask about checkout redemption.
- Cancel before the property's deadline to protect the points.
08 · Account care
Twenty-four months of silence can erase the balance
Radisson may void points after twenty-four months without qualifying activity. The current FAQ treats a stay, redemption, purchase, gift, or transfer as activity. This is an inactivity rule rather than a fixed expiry attached to each point, so an eligible transaction can preserve the account balance.
Set a reminder well before the twenty-four-month mark and use the least costly useful action that the current rules confirm. If consolidating balances, remember that the sender generally needs an account older than thirty days, can send to no more than five recipients in a month, and the recipient faces its own sender and 100,000-point monthly limits.
- Track the date of the last qualifying account activity.
- Leave time for a transaction to post before twenty-four months.
- Check current transfer limits for both accounts.
- Retain confirmation until the activity date updates.
09 · Property check
Treat the exclusion list as part of the booking
The current FAQ excludes all Radisson properties in Russia and names additional hotels in Germany and China. Consumer navigation also includes brands and affiliations that are not perfectly mirrored in the governing brand list. A familiar Radisson-associated name therefore does not establish participation.
Open the current exclusion page for every consequential booking, especially in China or at an apartment, residence, or long-stay property. Save the result with the reservation. If the hotel page and Rewards terms appear to disagree, obtain written confirmation rather than assuming the broader interpretation.
- Check Russia and the named-hotel exclusion list.
- Verify affiliated China brands property by property.
- Ask residences and apartments which benefits apply.
- Do not import a benefit solely from the corporate brand directory.
10 · After the stay
Reconcile the rate choice with the credit received
After checkout, compare the account with the decision made at booking. A normal Premium rate should not post like a nine-point Booster rate; a Prize stay should not be measured against full Radisson earning; an OTA stay should produce tier credit without points. Include only eligible room and participating food-and-beverage spend in the expected total.
Check the rolling qualification counter and the account-activity date as well as points. If the hotel credited the wrong member, omitted a room, or applied the wrong rate mode, retain the itemized folio and confirmation and contact Radisson promptly. An OTA reservation is not eligible for a retrospective points claim, even when its tier credit needs correction.
- Identify normal, Booster, or Prize earning before recalculating.
- Remove tax, alcohol, tobacco, and excluded incidentals.
- Check tier credit independently from points.
- Keep the folio until the rolling counter and activity date are correct.
Change log
What changed.
Radisson published a 27-million-member partnership snapshot
The official release highlights bank-conversion relationships, a Capital on Tap UK VIP match, Rewards Shop availability in selected countries, and worldwide GetYourGuide earning. Several partnerships began in 2025, so the release is a 2026 availability snapshot rather than evidence that every item launched in 2026.
No verified core tier or earning redesign
Current benefit and FAQ pages continue to use Club, Premium, and VIP with the published 8/27/36 earning rates and 5-night or 3-stay Premium and 30-night or 20-stay VIP thresholds. Governing terms still show a July 18, 2023 effective date.
Americas loyalty integration completed
Choice completed the migration of Radisson Rewards Americas into Choice Privileges. The event is older than 2026 but remains the controlling explanation for why a Radisson-branded hotel in the Americas does not use the international program in this guide.

Questions
What travelers ask.
Answers reflect the sources and review date above. Promotions, participation, and hotel delivery can change.
01Which Radisson loyalty program applies to my hotel?
International Radisson Rewards covers participating hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Radisson-branded hotels in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Caribbean use Choice Privileges. Determine the property country before using a guide, account, or redemption balance.
02What happened to Radisson Rewards Americas?
Choice Hotels acquired Radisson Hotels Americas and completed the booking and loyalty integration in July 2023. Choice's first-party announcement says all nine Americas brands and nearly 600 hotels moved into Choice's environment. The international Radisson Hotel Group and program remain separate.
03How many hotels participate in international Radisson Rewards?
The current consumer page advertises more than 810 participating hotels across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Radisson's 1,600-hotel corporate figure describes a broader global portfolio and pipeline and should not be presented as the number that accepts this Rewards program.
04How are Premium and VIP earned?
Premium requires five eligible nights or three eligible stays. VIP requires thirty nights or twenty stays. Qualification uses a rolling twelve-month period beginning with the first eligible stay. After an upgrade, used activity is deducted and a new qualification clock starts; failure to requalify normally causes a one-tier drop.
05Does an OTA booking earn Radisson points or status credit?
It earns no points and cannot be submitted as a missing-points request. Current official rules nevertheless say the eligible nights or stays can count toward tier qualification. Attach the member number so the hotel can recognize the account and check the tier counter after checkout.
06When is Discount Booster worthwhile?
Compare it with the normal direct member rate for identical terms. Premium gives up eighteen points per eligible dollar and VIP gives up twenty-four; Prize gives up proportionally smaller but still material amounts. Multiply the foregone points by a value grounded in the member's live redemption choices. Select Booster only if the extra discount is greater.
07Why does Prize by Radisson earn fewer points?
Prize has a distinct earning table: Club earns four, Premium 13.5, and VIP eighteen points per dollar under normal earning. Premium and VIP Booster rates fall to 4.5 and six. Prize also has narrower recognition, so do not apply the full-service Radisson table to a Prize booking.
08Does VIP always include breakfast and a suite?
VIP publishes breakfast for two at participating hotels, but property type and long-stay restrictions can apply. The best-category upgrade is subject to availability, and suites are available only at selected hotels rather than guaranteed. Confirm both benefits at the exact property before assigning them value.
09How much is a Radisson point worth?
Radisson does not publish a stable universal cash value. Award and points-plus-cash pricing are dynamic. Compare the cash price actually avoided with the points required for the same room and cancellation terms, including taxes avoided and fees that remain. A past redemption is not a guarantee of a future value.
10Do Award Nights and points-plus-cash stays count toward status?
Current rules say Award Nights and online cash-and-points bookings count toward tier qualification. The hotel's normal cancellation, guarantee, deposit, and no-show policies still apply. A late cancellation or no-show can forfeit one night's points.
11When do Radisson points expire?
Radisson may void a balance after twenty-four months without qualifying account activity. The current FAQ lists stays, redemptions, purchases, gifts, and transfers as activity. Complete and verify an eligible transaction before the deadline rather than waiting until the last day.
12Can Radisson points be transferred or converted to airline miles?
Member transfers are subject to account-age, recipient-count, sender-count, and 100,000-point monthly receipt limits. Airline conversion is normally ten Radisson points to one mile, with SAS published at seven to one, and can take four to six weeks. Check the current partner list and ratio before an irreversible conversion.
